Style worlds

Classical: Orchestra, chamber music, wind band. Where a voice should not stand out but carry.
Jazz & blues: Big band and small line-ups. Written parts and played solos, usually both in one night.
Funk: A horn section on the point. Short, loud, exactly together — otherwise it does not work.
Soul: Long notes, lots of air, few of them. The style where holding back is hardest.
Rock & metal: Trombone against two guitars. It works — with the right mic and the right riff.
Musical: Pit, click track, page turns in a two-beat rest. The discipline you take everywhere.
